Our New Centre / The Plans

The Plans

2017 will see the arrival of a brand new centre and home to CCLASP, located next to the new Sick Kids hospital in Little France, Edinburgh. Thanks to an extremely generous donation from The Howat Foundation, our dreams of expanding CCLASP and providing a purpose-build centre will become a reality.

The Howat Foundation CCLASP Centre will carefully consider the needs and desires of children and families who are experiencing childhood cancer or leukaemia by providing a handy drop-in centre just a stone’s throw away from the wards where most children receive their hospital treatment in Edinburgh. The centre will be complete with facilities for parents who need to freshen up or grab some sleep whilst their child undergoes surgery or treatment, or even just a quiet place to gain peace and relax for a while.

There will be special rooms designed for the children to play and have fun, as well as a wonderful rooftop terrace for when the weather is nice. The centre will be kitted out with carefully thought-out equipment and practicalities will be taken into consideration for both parent and child. Our hope is that the centre will be a haven of support for those going through such a difficult and distressing time.

Work starts on the site in January 2017 and is expected to be completed in the summer, ready for us to be able to move into in September 2017.

We will be making regular updates to our website of all the exciting progress, along with sneak peek images of how the site is transforming. We do hope you will follow our journey.

If you think you can offer support in some way to our dream new-build then please do reach out to us on 0131 467 7420 or info@cclasp.co.uk where we’d love to discuss the possibilities with you.
